On 22nd and 23rd March 2017, Dr Elmi Abu Bakar and group members, Mr. Mohamad Zihad Bin Mahmud, Mr. Mohd Amir Bin Wahab and Mr. Ahmad Raiminor Bin Ramzi paid a visit to LIMA’17 at Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), Langkawi. Apart from visiting booths in the exhibition, the main agenda of the visit is to find potential UGAP future collaborators among those company involved. Current UGAP module with Spirit Aerosystem was used as a sample for their reference. Brochures with brief explanation regarding the UGAP were distributed to exhibitors and there are many positive feedback from them. One of the exhibitors, Mr. Xavier Lawrence from Advance Air Traffic System (AAT) Sdn. Bhd. showed his interest in this collaboration. He said that this kind of collaboration might benefits both parties (university & industry) in term of knowledge sharing and workforce which could then contribute to the aerospace industry in Malaysia. During the two days LIMA visit about six local industries had been identified for future potential UGAP program participation.
