Visit from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan to the School of Aerospace Engineering


On 21 January 2025, the School of Aerospace Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia, welcomed a delegation from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, led by Associate Professor Dr. Toshiyuki Katsumi. The visit marked a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between the two institutions in both academic and research domains.
During the meeting, discussions were held on innovative strategies for fostering multicultural and co-educational initiatives. These efforts aim to enhance the educational experiences of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, emphasizing critical skills such as:
  • Embracing diversity through multicultural education.
  • Enhancing problem-solving abilities in global contexts.
  • Strengthening English communication skills to prepare students for international platforms.
Such collaborative initiatives align closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
  • SDG 4: Quality Education – By promoting inclusive, equitable, and quality education, along with lifelong learning opportunities for all.
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – By fostering inclusivity and equality through multicultural and co-educational programs.
This partnership serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and the development of innovative solutions to address global challenges, ensuring students are well-equipped for the complexities of the modern world.
We look forward to future collaborations with Nagaoka University of Technology and the shared growth of both institutions in shaping a better, sustainable future.
