Industry Engagement Visit and Strategic Collaborations
On 8 April 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elmi Abu Bakar, Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norizham Abdul Razak, Deputy Dean Research Innovation & Industry - Community Engagement, and En Mohamad Zihad, Vocational Training Officers from the USM School of Aerospace Engineering conducted a visit to key industry players to strengthen academia-industry collaborations and explore new opportunities for students, graduates, and working professionals.

1. Spirit AeroSystems, Subang, Selangor
Discussions were held with Spirit AeroSystems to explore potential collaborations and expand existing partnerships between academia and the aerospace industry. The visit provided valuable insights into real-case scenarios in aircraft and panel assembly processes. Future initiatives were proposed to enhance opportunities for factory workers, undergraduate students, and participants in the industry-master programme.

2. TWI Technology (S.E.Asia) Sdn Bhd
TWI, a provider of specialized training and services in areas such as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Welding Inspection, Plant Inspection, Welding Processes and Procedures, Plastic Welding, and Coating & Painting, hosted a fruitful discussion with the USM delegation. Both parties expressed strong interest in further collaboration, aiming to create impactful training and academic activities for mutual benefit.

4. Consortium of Malaysian Universities Meeting 2025
Participated in the Consortium of Malaysian Universities Meeting 2025 meeting in which gathered university and industry stakeholders to identify new opportunities and establish a framework for aerospace-related initiatives for the year. USM contributed valuable input and shared updates on ongoing and future collaborative efforts.
