Visit by TWI Malaysia to USM’s School of Aerospace Engineering and Science & Engineering Research Centre
On 7th May 2025, representatives from TWI Malaysia, a long-standing collaborator with USM, visited the School of Aerospace Engineering and the Science and Engineering Research Centre (SERC) to explore the advanced testing and research facilities available at the university. The SERC tour was facilitated by Pn. Hariy and her team. The visit focused on key facilities including X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Tensile Strength Testing, among others. Discussions also covered ongoing research collaborations and upcoming training initiatives. TWI was represented by Pn. Kamariah binti Zainuddin, who is the Business Development Manager and is responsible for training programs and Mr. Mehran who is the Regional Engineering Manager and oversees engineering services. From USM, the delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the School of Aerospace Engineering AP. Dr. Elmi bin Abu Bakar and Dr. Mohammad Nishat Akhtar who is also supervising Mr. Mehran in his MSc research. The visit marked a productive step forward in strengthening the research and industry engagement between TWI and USM.
