Dr. Mohamad Hanif Junos


Mohamad Hanif Junos was born in June 1983 in Perak, Malaysia. He earned his B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2013, followed by an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2016. In pursuit of further specialization, he completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University Malaya.

Currently, he serves as a senior lecturer at the School of Aerospace Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. His research spans a wide range of fields, focusing on computer vision, aerial object detection, and deep learning. His current research interest includes solar panel defect detection, flood detection using deep learning, and analyzing the velocity of equatorial plasma bubbles. He is also involved in the development of lightweight detection models for these applications.

In addition to his research contributions, Dr. Mohamad Hanif teaches courses in control system theory and satellite communications. He is professionally affiliated with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (Aerospace) (BEM) and is an active member of the Astronomical Society of Penang.
