Research Background

Dr. Siti Harwani binti Md Yusoff is a Senior Lecturer and dedicated researcher within the School of Aerospace Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her comprehensive, international academic training includes a B.Eng in Aerospace Engineering from Tokai University, Japan, an M.Sc from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and a Master in Aeronautic and Space Technology from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. She concluded her specialized academic training by earning a PhD in Computational Theoretical Physics from USM. Her core research areas concentrate on space environment computational modelling alongside multi-objective space mission analysis and design, specifically investigating earth electromagnetic coupling inside the lower ionospheric layer.

Current Research Projects

  • FDTD modelling of electromagnetic phenomena in the ionosphere prior to large earthquakes in the Malaysia-Sumatera region
  • Investigating Space Physics and Earth Electromagnetism boundaries
  • Scientific Mission Analysis and payload architecture for MYSat — the university's indigenous CubeSat initiative
