The flight competition session was divided into two rounds: the First Round and the Final Round. In the First Round, the 42-team participants were divided into 2 large groups. Two parallel sessions were conducted to evaluate the flight performance of all the teams in each group. Each team were given two opportunities to fly their planes.
The flight performance in our competition was based on its time of flight, defined from the release of the plane up to its landing, i.e. when it touches the ground, regardless of what obstacles (ceiling, wall, lamp, other planes, etc) the plane crashes into during flight. Three winning teams were selected from each group; the best team from each group went into the Final Round to compete face-to-face to determine the overall winner of the flight competition.
