Credit Tansfer & Exemption

Credit Transfer & Exemption

Newly accepted undergraduate students who have taken some courses at the university or diploma level can request for the exemptions of similar courses at SAE. This is referred to as the Unit Exemption Process. These cases normally apply to students who have transferred to SAE from other universities (without fully completing their degree-level studies there), or those who have completed their diploma-level studies at other institutions.

Once at SAE, students can also request to take some of their courses (normally for one or two semesters) at other local or overseas universities. In this scenario, students can apply to transfer the credits taken there such that they do not have to repeat the same courses at SAE.

For example, SAE students can apply for the Student Exchange Program to study at selected universities overseas that offer similar aerospace (or related) engineering programmes. Once completed, they can apply to transfer the credits back to SAE. This is referred to as the Credit Transfer Process. Many of our own SAE students have had the wonderful opportunities to study abroad through this program.

Both the credit transfer or unit exemption processes undergo internal evaluation processes at SAE, which will be evaluated thoroughly by a panel. A maximum of 33 exempted units (and a maximum of two semester), equivalent to a-third of the units for graduation, can be given to students if approved by the panel.
